Wu Junyong was born in 1978 in Putian, China. He received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the China Academy of Art. Wu now teaches at the School of InterMedia Art at the China Academy of Art. Wu currently lives and works in Hangzhou.
Wu’s work has been shown around the world. Recent exhibitions include “The Triennial of Chinese Arts” at the Nanjing Museum, “China Gate” at Arko Art Center, “Art Game” at He Xiangning Art Museum, “Farewell to Post-Colonialism: The Third Guangzhou Triennial” at the Guangdong Museum of Art, “MADE IN POP LAND” at the National Museum of Contemporary Art, South Korea, the “First CAFAM · Future Exhibition” at CAFA Art Museum, the Ninth Shanghai Biennale at the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art, “ON | OFF: China’s Young Artists in Concept and Practice” at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, “Fuck Off 2” at the Groninger Museum, “POST POP: EAST MEETS WEST” at the Saatchi Gallery, and the Animamix Biennial at the Daegu Art Museum.
