Liu Gang

Utopias/Heterotopias: Wuzhen International Contemporary Exhibition Curators

Liu Gang is an independent curator and artist. He is also the founder and executive director of The Pin Projects. He graduated from the Photography Department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He currently lives and works in Beijing.


Since founding The Pin Projects in 2013, Liu Gang has organized numerous contemporary art and design exhibitions around the world, including “One Group Show” at Suzhou Jinji Lake Art Museum (2013), the Amsterdam Guest City Program at Beijing Design Week (2013), “Triple Parade: Dutch Contemporary Jewelry” at the OCT LOFT (2014), “Dutch Photography: The Space Between Us” at He Xiangning Art Museum (2014), “Self/Unself: Dutch Contemporary Design” at the Suzhou Jinji Lake Art Museum and Macau Design Centre (2014), the Dutch program for Beijing Design Week for the Dutch Embassy in China (2015), “Still/Life: Contemporary Dutch Photography” traveling exhibition (2015), “Work, Rest, and Play: British Photography from the 1960s to Today” traveling exhibition (2015),  “Now is the Time” (2015), “The Nurturing House” at Beijing Design Week (2015), “The Future of Fashion is Now” (2015), ”We May Have Met Before” at Foam Museum (2015), and “Close to Me: An Exhibition of Contemporary Jewelry by Sun Jie” (2015).
