Art Advisory Committee
Uli Sigg was born in 1946 and grew up in Switzerland. He was the general representative for the Swiss Pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. He was one of the first foreigners to come to China after Reform and Opening, and he is a co-founder of the first Chinese-foreign joint venture, Schindler (China). From 1995 to 1998, he was the Swiss Ambassador to China, North Korea, and Mongolia. He is currently one of China’s biggest and most authoritative collectors of Chinese contemporary art, systematically collecting nearly 2,000 important works by 200 Chinese contemporary artists. He is currently the deputy chairman of the board of directors for Ringier Group, a member of the Beijing Branch of the China Development Bank Advisory Committee, and the International Council of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
